Course Description/Objectives:
Advanced Business Chinese is to promote students’ understanding of modern China and the world from the economic and business perspectives and to enhance learners’ overall language skills in reading, writing, and speaking in the contexts of business and economy. The course is designed for students who have studied Chinese for 4 years or more in a regular college program. Topics of the course range from China’s foreign trade strategies after entering the WTO, the impacts of China’s economic reform on people and society, to controversial topics such as lay-offs, corruptions, and globalization.
